I would like to mention a few concepts whose meaning in this work deepens beyond their common understanding.
When we speak about patience, we all know what it means in its common sense. In this work, however, patience refers to resting at ease no matter what is happening outwardly or inwardly. It is not simply being patient, but being patient at ease — which implies a profound understanding of illusion and its appearances, held in inner ease.
Interdependence — we understand it as things (objects, people, situations, and so on) having a reciprocal relationship, which means, in a way, things being interconnected and dependent on one another in order to exist, to manifest, and to shift constantly. A great deal of dynamism. But in this work, interdependence means the dissolution of illusion, since it brings us directly to the understanding that if things are interdependent, they cannot be independent by themselves. Therefore, the illusion in which we as human beings live entangled — believing things to be real, or that me here and you there are two completely separated entities — is completely dissolved, leaving us naked in the sphere of the clarity of truth.
Impermanence — this is also connected to interdependence in a way, since its nature is change. In this work, impermanence means the exhaustion of everything. It is the death of all that appears, whether internally or externally — nothing fixed, nothing sustained eternally, nothing stable. So this word, later on the path, brings us to touching eternity.
Silence, in our path, means radiance and expansion — so it is not a boring quietness, stagnation, or stasis, nor a lack of sound. It is related to our whole being. It is liberation, and there are ways to reach this more profound understanding and accomplishment through practice. The common understanding of silence that we ordinarily know is the first gate, so that we can proceed deeper into it. Once we allow ourselves to go deep, we encounter the grail of illumination.
Speech, in this method, means blessings — not the need to communicate something with words in the infinite ways we ordinarily use them as humans: we curse, we gossip, we lie, we offend, we humiliate, and so on. Speech is the union of the sunrays to illuminate, the union with the ancestral sound which is nature, and the powerful vibrations of blessings.
The body is not a bag of blood, bones, and organs. It is a temple of light. Since primordial nature is luminous, our body also belongs to that primordial nature — it is the great perfection expressed in a form with a label, to keep on expressing its illuminated qualities into the material. In a way, the displayer of light.
Our mind is not an organ to process information and spark mechanical muscle contractions, nor the center of thoughts. Our mind is the gate through which the continuation of truth endures to bring light.
The heart is not merely the distributor of blood and so on. Here, it is the center of the continuation of expressions of truth, displaying them outwardly to naturally show a brighter world — aligning oneself and reality into the natural harmony of the profound and the surface, in total alignment.
Prayer is breathing and staying in realization without interruption.
Renunciation or abandonment here means the inner release of our humanness, not the outer abandonment of family, job, profession, religious ideologies, and so on. Nor does it mean to stop loving our loved ones. It is about the inner release — I repeat, the inner release — of entanglement in illusion.
Appearances, in this work, does not mean what the word itself implies — something that appears. Rather, it is the ultimate path of training for us to attain the most high.
Manifestation is not the idea we have of manifesting this or that, as some “pseudo-spiritual” paths and teachers nowadays profess, but the display of purity free from “somethingness” in total freedom — the supreme force.
Reality also means just that — reality, which is total freedom stretched out.
Illusion means the blessings of our enlightened mind expressed as a joyful land.
In any case, I could go on forever about these differences, but for now, these are good to keep in mind.
